Lamp oil container, deposit provenance, Islamic art, Arabic culture, glass oil lamp, cream enamel thread also at the bottom, 12th–15th century, Syria, or Egypt, Middle East, height 12.0 cm, diameter 5.2 cm, A tall, narrow glass vessel with a rounded flared rim and a tapered pointed base, rendered in translucent green with areas of pale and deeper green tones; the surface shows many small bubbles and a few irregular darker spots and patches, plus a few rusty brown discolorations; there is a subtle applied horizontal ridge near the rim and a decorative wavy applied thread near the lower body creating arched shapes; overall the glass has a slightly uneven, hand-blown texture and a glossy finish.
