Sarcophagus mask with part of a wig preserved over the central and left part of the face and a fragment of the neck. Polychrome is poorly preserved traces near the eyes. ca. 747–332 BC; Third Intermediate Period–Late Period, Egypt. Sarcophagus mask., A weathered wooden object shaped like a stylized face with rough, cracked texture and pronounced grain, showing a long vertical split near the center, a raised nose-like form, and shallow eye-like indentations; the wood displays a range of brown tones from light tan to deeper brown with some grayish areas, set against a flat gray background.
