Lamp, repossession Zabkowice Slaskie, Egypt, Coptic art, antiquity, oil lamps, Middle Ages. Oval lamp made of yellow-gray clay with a high container and two handles, through which a bronze chain is strung for hanging the lamp. The high, sloping arms are decorated with a plastic ornament of a rectangular mesh. A channel running perpendicularly through the arms from the handle reaches the wick hole and surrounds it, creating a high rim. 5th–6th century, Egypt, oil lamp, height 10 cm, width 7.1 cm, A hanging object suspended from a metal hook and chain, the chain showing a worn dark metal with areas of greenish patina, leading down to a rough, light beige clay vessel with an irregular rounded base and an asymmetrical rim; the vessel surface has a textured pattern of shallow diamond impressions and uneven tool marks, with darker soil-colored spots and slight brown discoloration in crevices; the background is a smooth, uniform muted gray.
