Lamp, Oval lamp made of yellow-gray clay with a high container and two handles, through which a bronze chain is strung for hanging the lamp. The high, sloping arms are decorated with a plastic ornament of a rectangular mesh. A channel running perpendicularly through the arms from the handle reaches the wick hole and surrounds it, creating a high rim. Coptic oil lamp, Egypt, 5th–6th century. Height 10 cm, width 7.1 cm., A hanging object suspended from a metal chain with a hook is visible against a plain gray background; the chain is dark metal with greenish patina and links of varying shapes, and attached at the bottom is a small worn vessel made of light beige clay with darker brown and gray discoloration, showing a rounded body, a spout-like opening, a raised area with a grid-like pattern of square impressions, and a small loop where it connects to the chain.
