Lamp, repossession Zabkowice Slaskie, Egypt, Coptic art, antiquity, oil lamp, Middle Ages. Oval lamp made of yellow-gray clay with a high container and two handles, through which a bronze chain is strung for hanging the lamp. The high, sloping arms are decorated with a plastic ornament of a rectangular mesh. A channel running perpendicularly through the arms from the handle reaches the wick hole and surrounds it, creating a high rim. 5th–6th century, Egypt, oil lamp, height 10 cm, width 7.1 cm, An irregularly shaped object with a rough, worn surface suspended by a metal ring through a small loop at its top, showing a textured upper face with a pattern of shallow diamond-shaped depressions and an underside that tapers to a blunt point; the object displays a palette of beige and tan with areas of light brown and small darker speckles, and the background is a uniform gray.
