Pilgrim's bottle, gift, Islamic art; Arabic/Islamic culture; Ayyubid dynasty 1171–1341; geometric ornament. The belly is widened at the arms, which merge into a cylindrical, slightly convex neck with a narrow opening. On one wall there is a star motif with a rosette in the middle and a palmette; on the other and on the side arms there is a honeycomb motif. Violet manganese glass. 12th–13th century. Syria?, Egypt?, Middle East? Vessel. Height 11.8 cm; width 9.1 cm; depth 4.2 cm., A single elongated rounded object with a narrow top and wider tapered body, photographed against a plain light gray background; the object has a smooth, worn surface showing scuffs and small scratches and appears predominantly very dark brown to black with subtle areas of deep purple and hints of tan or beige marks where the surface is worn.
