Terracotta figurine of Heracles, terracotta, figurines of nude men, Heracles mythology, Greek mythology, figurines made of molds. Figurine of a standing naked Heracles in a contrapposto pose. He has a cloak thrown over his back. His right hand rests on a rock, and in his left he probably holds a club. Condition of preservation: good. 2nd–1st century BC, Asia Minor, figurine, height 14.3 cm., A weathered clay figure viewed in profile against a plain gray background, with an elongated, rounded head and a simplified facial plane, a slender neck leading to sloping shoulders and an elongated torso that tapers into a long skirt-like lower form; the surface is rough and pitted with irregular texture and small chips, and the figure has a prominent rounded protrusion at the chest and an arm that hangs close to the body with an indistinct hand; visible colors include muted beige, light tan, pale brown, and hints of ochre and gray on the surface.
