Oil lamp, unknown Germanic workshop or other provincial?, molded round vessel with arms sloping outward separated from the disc by a convex edge. Three bars on the arms two symmetrically on the sides, the third opposite the burner. Concave, flat disc with one large central oil hole. Medium-length wick channel decorated in the center with a wide flat groove bounded by two convex edges. Rounded end of the burner. Large wick hole. No blackening. 1st–2nd century AD, Roman Empire 27 BC–476. Oil lamp; height 3.4 cm, width 8 cm, depth 5.3 cm. Type: single-burner Roman lamp, Buchi type Xa / Loeschcke type X., A roughly boat-shaped object with an uneven, worn surface in shades of brown, dark brown, and gray sits against a gray background; the object has rounded edges, a shallow hollow along its top, a few small dents and cracks, and areas of lighter brown and darker brown mottling giving a textured, weathered appearance.
