Carved depictions in the body; canopy central part with plinth; four wings painted on one side — the inner wings narrower, with wider outer wings attached. Each wing divided horizontally into two quarters, enclosed in a painted frame of a narrow red band decorated with schematic flowers. The figure of the Madonna currently placed in the altar does not originate from this altar. Colours: vestments — predominance of light colours; reds with cool shades, light blue, olive green modeled with yellow, white, pink broken with purple. Flesh complexions modeled with warm pink and brown. Architecture in pink and white with accents of red and blue; green ground stripe. Haloes, robes' frames, crowns — gold. Gold plain background. Red frames with gilded, rosettes. Dated ca. 1430 various scholarly datings ca. 1410–after 1420, some specifying ca. 1425. Place of origin: Gdansk. Type: wing altar. Height 139.7 cm; width 162 cm., A carved wooden statue of a crowned woman holding a child stands on a carved wooden base in front of a folding painted altarpiece with hinged panels; the statue has draped robes with visible folds and a pale painted face and the child is seated on her arm. The altarpiece panels are framed in red and show multiple painted figures and scenes on gold backgrounds, including robed standing figures, groups of people in various poses, and architectural elements; the palette includes gold, red, green, blue, and pale flesh tones, with touches of black and brown in details and a gray background behind the entire piece.
