Wine transport vessel with a spindle-cylindrical, long body; steep arms; cylindrical neck ending in a straight rim. Cylindrical handles, oval in cross-section, are attached to the lower part of the arms and to the middle part of the neck. The entire body has grooves of varying density and size, densest in the lower and upper parts. No cylindrical foot. Brown alluvial clay Naqlun AC1A ceramic type. Outer surface brown and even; interior and upper outer neck coated with a black resinous substance. Dated 2nd half of 4th–5th century; findspot Edfu. Vessel amphora.
