Wine transport vessel with a spindle-cylindrical, long body. Steep arms, cylindrical neck ending with a straight rim. Cylindrical vises, oval in cross-section, are attached to the lower part of the arms and to the middle part of the neck. The entire body has grooves of varying density and size; the densest are in the lower and upper parts. No cylindrical foot. Brown alluvial clay Naqlun AC1A ceramic type. Outer surface brown and even. The interior and the upper outer surface of the neck are coated with a black resinous substance. 2nd half of the 4th–5th century, Edfu find location. Vessel, amphora; height 65 cm, rim diameter 7 cm, body diameter 19 cm., A tall, narrow ceramic vessel with a rounded shoulder and a tapered base, featuring a pair of curved handles near the neck; the surface shows a series of horizontal ridges and grooves wrapping around the body, with a smoother section near the top and bottom. The vessel is primarily terracotta in color with variations of reddish-brown and muted beige, and there are areas of darker brown near the rim and slight grayish tones toward the lower portion. The background is a smooth, neutral gray.
