Description: The face of Christ is depicted in the kovcheg with a brown complexion brightened by white tones on the forehead, eyelids, under the eyes, chin, and around the mouth. Eyes large; nose long and straight; hair parted in the middle, falling in circular locks on the shoulders; beard small and bipartite. Christ wears a red chiton with a gold border decorated with a delicate plant ornament, and a malachite himation with an ornament. Around the head is a cruciform halo; the letters on the arms of the cross are placed in double overlapping rhombuses—gold and red. The background of the kovcheg is gilded. Style linear, with tendencies toward decorativeness and stylization. Date: 2nd half of the 19th century. Place: Western Russia . Dimensions: height 31 cm, width 25.5 cm. Inscriptions: present. The figure wears a garment with red and dark green areas and ornate decorative trim in gold and white dots, and there are curled hair details at the shoulders. The surrounding border is brown with a green inner edge and a thin red outer edge, and smaller decorative motifs appear within the gold halo. Colors visible include brown, dark brown, gold, red, green, white, and black.
