The image is closed at the top by a full arch. It shows Christ and the apostles seated around a table. Christ blesses while the apostles on either side of the Savior raise their hands in prayer. Judas holds a purse. The table is covered with a cloth with abundant folds, depicting a chalice with two discs in the center and plates standing before the figures. In the background is a somewhat schematic interior with pillars and windows. The icon was probably originally part of an iconostasis. Its iconography and artistic form are influenced by Western tradition. 18th century, Volga; icon; height 44.8 cm, width 62.0 cm, depth 5.0 cm., A painted scene shows a group of people seated around a large table covered with a draped cloth, with a central figure behind the table. The figures wear flowing robes and have circular halos; many have beards and varied hair styles. The setting includes tall columns and a draped curtain behind the central figure, and the composition is framed by a curved arch. Visible colors include red, orange, brown, beige, green, black, gold, and cream, with touches of dark blue and pale gray. The table surface shows a few small round dishes and a single cup. The floor and lower border are dark red and black, and the outer edge of the arch has a thin red outline.
