In the middle wing, on a rearing horse, St. Demetrius is shown driving a spear into the body of Lias, who lies under his hooves. The preserved side wing depicts the Descent into Hell and the Ascension. Above the central wing is the Mandylion, framed by two cherubs. The cast form is simple and slightly archaic. The left side wing is missing, and the upper left hinge is damaged. 18th century, Russia. Triptych two wings; height 8.5 cm, width 9.3 cm., A small rectangular metal plaque with a hinged narrow panel on the right, cast in a brownish bronze tone with areas of darker patina; the main larger panel shows a raised scene of a haloed figure on a rearing horse holding a long spear, a fallen figure beneath the horse, and raised decorative borders, while the narrow hinged panel contains two stacked relief scenes of standing figures and smaller decorative elements; the top of the main plaque has a raised ornamental crest with a small square relief in the center flanked by two stylized bird-like shapes, and the whole object rests against a plain light gray background.
