Figurine of a woman. A girl sitting in a chair is dressed in a soft white chiton over which a blue, in places lilac, cloak is thrown, opening at the front. She rests her left hand on the chair cushion, while her right rests on her knees and is covered by the cloak. Her brown hair is parted at the front, combed upwards and girded. The full chair with forward-curved legs has a narrow, low backrest; the seat cushion is blue on top and red underneath. No base. Early 3rd century BC, Tanagra Greece. Terracotta figurine, height 16 cm, width 8 cm, depth 10 cm, weight 0.25 kg., A seated sculpted figure wearing a long draped garment with visible folds and a shawl, with curly hair gathered under a headband and a small raised element atop the head; the figure’s hands rest in the lap and on the side of the seat, and the feet extend forward from beneath the drapery. The sculpture shows a weathered surface with areas of muted beige, off-white, gray, brown, reddish tones, and traces of faded blue. The background is a smooth neutral gray.
