Cuneiform tablet with receipt, unknown Babylonian official role classification of creator, cuneiform tablets, Neo-Babylonian document, trade, Rectangular tablet, slightly convex, horizontally oriented. Three corners broken off; cracks on the lower and left sides; 9 lines of cuneiform text on the obverse, 2 on the lower side, 9 on the reverse. 6th century BC; Neo-Babylonian period, Babylonia Iraq, Southern Mesopotamia, Height 3.8 cm, width 4.5 cm, thickness 2 cm., A rough, irregularly shaped object with a textured, rocky surface in shades of brown and gray is shown against a pale background; there are traces of bright red pigment applied in a vertical pattern on one face, and the surface includes crevices, bumps, and layered, craggy formations with areas of lighter beige highlights and darker shadowed recesses.
