Amphora, bulging belly with a rounded bottom, long cylindrical neck with a thick ring-shaped rim; handles attached to the shoulders and halfway up the neck, 3rd–4th century, Roman Empire 27 BC–476, ceramic vessel, height 4.7 cm, width 3 cm, A single rounded vessel with a narrow flaring neck and a wide flat rim is shown against a plain light background; the vessel has a worn, textured surface in deep blue with areas of lighter blue and greenish patina and patches of brown and beige where the surface has flaked away; a raised handle-like feature in a beige to tan color extends from the neck onto the shoulder, showing layered, textured brushlike marks; the rim and neck show darker blue with scattered brown spots and small rough areas, and the base edge has fragments of brown material adhered, with the vessel resting on a reflective surface that creates a faint mirror image.
