Black-finned skyphos, Greek ceramics, early 4th century BC, Attica, thick-walled cup skyphos with deep bowl on a low profiled foot. Interior stamped ornament with six palmettes; inside the circle two concentric circles with ovules between them; surrounded by a band of ovules between two engraved lines. Outer part of the foot decorated with concentric circular elements. Varnish evenly distributed, matte, visible turning marks; admixtures: mica pyroxene. Clay color 2.5 YR 6/6 light red; varnish color 10 YR 2/1 black. Vessel: height 10.4 cm, width 23.5 cm, depth 16.6 cm, weight 0.456 kg, foot diameter 8.2 cm., A black glazed ceramic bowl with a rounded body and a flared rim, shown from the front on a neutral gray background; the bowl has a pair of looped handles that arc from the rim to the shoulder, a raised circular foot, and several small chips and worn spots revealing a lighter color beneath; colors visible include black, gray, and small areas of a light beige where the glaze is worn.
