Stamnos with a depiction of Boreas and Oreithyia, unknown Attic workshop; Oinochoe Painter 480–460 BC; Orithyia mythology, Boreas mythology; Greek pottery, 470–460 BC; Attica; vessel stamnos; weight 3.556 kg; height 34 cm; diameter 29.1 cm; width 36 cm with vices; diameter of outlet 22 cm., A rounded ceramic vessel with a dark background and a group of orange-figure human silhouettes encircling its shoulder, depicting several robed figures in profile engaged in gestures and holding slender staffs or vessels, a few figures facing each other as one extends an arm toward another. The vessel has a wide neck with a decorative band beneath its rim, a pair of horizontal handles on opposite sides, and a patterned band around the lower part of the decorated zone. The base and foot show the same dark color with orange edges and some worn areas, and the overall palette includes dark black or deep brown and warm orange tones.
