Hornakht's Shabti, back pillars, hieroglyphs, wigs, beards facial hair, Hornakht ca. 525–530 BC, funerary figurine mummy-shaped shabti, grave good, standing on a base, back supported by a pillar/pilaster. Arms crossed on the chest, right folded over the left. In the right hand: a long-bladed hoe and two strings from which hangs a semicircular basket on the back slightly above the elbow; in the left hand: a whip. Hands and tools are engraved. On the head: a long, three-part smooth wig. Long straight beard of even width. Face with coarse features, roughly defined eyes, wide nose, prominent mouth with a slight smile. Right ear significantly larger than the left. Inscription carved in a single column on the front, extending from chin to feet; content unclear but names the deceased Hornakht and his mother. Date: 664–30 BC Late Period–Ptolemaic Period, Egypt. Type: shabti. Dimensions: height 11.6 cm, width 3.1 cm., A small standing figurine with a human face and headdress, shown from a slight three-quarter angle, mounted on a rectangular block; the figure appears elongated with arms folded across the front and a long narrow body bearing carved vertical markings; the surface of the figure shows a weathered, pale beige tone with darker brown spots and some greenish-gray areas, while the rectangular block base is a warm ochre color and rests on a neutral gray background.
