Amulet — the dancing god Bes; creator, Bes myth., Egyptian deity depicted with feathers, dancing and holding musical instruments; Egyptian religion; New Kingdom, ca. 1550–1069 BC; amulet; height 6.7 cm, width 2.8 cm., A sculpted figure viewed in profile with a textured surface showing shades of green, brown, and pinkish-orange, with a flat rectangular base and a head featuring a pronounced nose, brow, and beard; the body has a curved, sinuous form with three circular holes running vertically through it, a ridged or striated texture on the head and upper torso, and worn, rough areas and patches of discoloration throughout.
