Amulet — stele with lion-headed goddesses Bastet and Sekhmet?, lionesses, Egyptian deities, Sekhmet mythology, Bastet mythology, Bes mythology, thrones; ca. 747–525 BC 25th–26th Dynasty, Egypt; amulet; height 7.1 cm, width 4.6 cm., A rectangular, rounded-top object with a small tab at the top, shown against a neutral background, predominantly turquoise with areas of lighter green and brownish wear; its surface is carved with a recessed rectangular border and inside that border are a few vertical raised forms and a group of carved, stylized figures or shapes that include curved and rounded heads, elongated bodies, and flaring bases, all highlighted by lighter, worn edges where the underlying material shows through; the piece has small dark speckles and patches of brown discoloration, and the bottom edge shows a darker worn area.
