Fragment of a figurine of the god Khonsu — head with a lock of youth and a disc mounted on a crescent moon on the head; a uraeus above the forehead; a false beard on the chin not preserved. Materials and other identifiers: figurine, height 7.4 cm, width 5 cm, depth 4 cm. Date: 664–525 BC, Late Period, 26th Dynasty, Egypt. Subjects/icons: Khonsu mythology, uraei, lunar discs and crescents iconography, locks of youth, back pillars. Maker/attribution unknown., A small sculpted object shown from the back with a smooth rounded top and a flat vertical rear surface, predominantly dark gray to black with areas of worn lighter gray and off-white showing through, and a few small reddish marks; the sides reveal a rounded ear shape on one side and a series of carved parallel ridges on the other, both in similar dark tones with lighter worn highlights; the base is irregular and shows chipped edges with lighter interior color; the object rests on a clear display support against a pale gray background.
