Head of a priest figurine, A man's head, fragment of a statuette, completely devoid of hair. Skull bony structure excavated, expanded in the rear, upper part highly vaulted. Small, narrow eyes with heavy drooping eyelids; fleshy nose flattened at the tip with wide thick nostrils. Deep furrows and wrinkles under the eyes and around the nose and mouth. Fleshy, schematically rendered ears; right ear slightly flattened. With base 10.5 cm. c. 747–656 BC; Third Intermediate Period, 25th Dynasty, Egypt. Sculpture. Height 4.7 cm, width 3.5 cm, depth 4 cm., A small dark brownish-black stone head sculpture shown in profile on a rectangular dark base, with a rounded skull, a defined forehead, nose, lips, chin, and a small ear, the surface mottled with lighter brown and grayish spots and some shiny areas, set against a pale gray background.
