Head of a priest figurine, Male Egyptian sculptural fragment: a man's head, completely devoid of hair. Skull bony structure excavated and expanded in the rear, upper part highly vaulted. Small, narrow eyes with heavy drooping eyelids; fleshy nose flattened at the tip with wide thick nostrils. Deep furrows and wrinkles under the eyes and around the nose and mouth; fleshy, schematically rendered ears right ear slightly flattened. With base. Third Intermediate Period, 25th Dynasty, c. 747–656 BC. Sculpture; height 4.7 cm, width 3.5 cm, depth 4 cm., A sculpted head resting on a square base, shown frontally against a pale background; the head has a rounded skull, simplified facial features with closed or recessed eye areas, a broad nose, and a subtle mouth, with prominent ears on either side. The surface appears rough and pitted with irregular texture. Visible colors include dark brown, black, and patches of lighter brown or tan, with a few small lighter spots. The base is dark, and the supporting plinth beneath it is translucent or clear.
