Ankhren's shabti, Name: Ankh-ren. Mummy-shaped figurine shabti, standing on a base and supported at the back by a pilaster. Arms crossed on the chest, holding hoes in both hands; a string in the right hand supports a basket slung over the left shoulder. Convex tools. Smooth three-part wig, ears uncovered. Facial features slightly blurred with large eyes, proportionate nose, and a straight, long beard. Inscription engraved in a column on the front of the legs: The word spoken by Osiris Ankh-ren .... Date: 664–30 BC Late Period–Ptolemaic Period. Provenance: Tuna el-Gebel. Height: 10.8 cm., A small, irregularly shaped object with a weathered, mottled surface in shades of green and brown is shown against a plain gray background, appearing suspended or floating in the center of the image; the object's top face is visible with a few areas of darker brown discoloration and lighter green patina, and there are several marks of contrasting dark and red pigments on its surface.
