A wooden bench from a set of doll furniture. Wooden bench with a box closed by a flap forming a seat. Painted decoration with schematic animal silhouettes: a tabby cat on the backrest and chickens on the sides and front wall of the box. Toy, height 11.5 cm, width 17.0 cm, depth 8.0 cm. Maker: Kenar, Antoni 1906–1959, sculptor. Date: 1947–1948. Origin: Zakopane. Associated with State Secondary School of Fine Arts in Zakopane and Office of Production Aesthetics Supervision 1947–1949., A small wooden box with a hinged back shows a simple black line drawing of a reclining striped cat on the back panel and a group of stylized birds drawn in red across the front panel; the wood is a warm tan color with visible grain, the cat features bold black stripes and round eyes, and the birds are outlined and patterned with red marks.
