Painted by Élisabeth Louise Vigée-Le Brun 1755–1842 attributed and possibly an unknown painter. Young woman, torso facing right; loose wavy dark-blond hair, wearing a light straw hat with a wide brim trimmed with a blue ribbon and bows, the hat’s crown of white fabric. Dress in navy blue and green with a white shawl fichu tied at the waist. Background: grayish-green garden shrubs and trees; on the right a pedestal with an urn. Signature illegible on the lintel. Gilded bronze frame with plant motifs; top ornamented with a floral wreath, a quiver, torches, bay leaves, and ribbons. Dated circa 1900. Miniature; height 9.2 cm, width 8.0 cm., A rectangular ornate frame with a decorative crest at the top and a circular hanging loop, showing worn and chipped surfaces in shades of dark brown, gold, and hints of green; inside the frame is a patterned paper with swirling marbled designs in shades of brown, rust, orange, and gray with darker brown spots, edged by triangular folded tabs in gold and dark brown.
