Narrow brass rim binding. 1780, Germany. Miniature; height 4.0 cm, width 3.4 cm., An oval framed portrait of a person shown from the chest up wearing a green coat with a red front panel and gold trim, a white ruffled neckcloth, and a powdered wig tied at the back; the face has fair skin with light rosy cheeks and lips, pale blue eyes, and a neutral expression; the background is a muted gray-green and the frame is a worn gold color with small dark spots.
