Bust 3/4 left; black, short, smooth hair; mustache, sideburns, small beard. White collar at the neck, white sleeves; black habit with a hood at the back. Background brown-olive. Inscription on the back: Peter van Slirgelandt at N 126698. Date: circa 1650–1690. Miniature, height 10.2 cm, width 7.7 cm. Binding: none., An oval portrait of a man shown from the chest up against a neutral brownish background, with warm brown skin and dark brown hair and beard, dark brown eyes and a neutral expression; he wears a dark black garment over a cream or off-white collar and cream sleeves, and the painting surface shows areas of wear with spots of greenish and reddish flaking around the edges; visible colors include brown, black, cream, green, reddish tones, and gray in the surrounding mat.
