Portrait of a young man in a gray wig; artist unknown. Three-quarter male portrait, ca. 1770, miniature. Bust almost straight, head slightly turned left. Large spherical wig with a pigtail at the back. He wears a short tied lilac cravat and a gray-pink tailcoat with lilac-colored lapels embroidered with silver flower buds. Background gray-olive, lightened on the right near the head. Housed in a round black leather case lined with gray-green plush., A circular hinged case opened to reveal a painted portrait on the left and a padded empty space on the right, both surrounded by a soft furry lining. The portrait shows a person with a pale complexion and powdered hair, wearing a light-colored scarf tied at the neck and a coat with visible lapels and decorative details. The furry lining around the interior is light gray, and the empty padded area on the right is a darker gray with a slightly mottled texture. The case exterior rim appears brown, the hinge is metallic with a brass-like color, and the background behind the case is a mid-tone gray.
