Shoulder-length male portrait, bust 3/4 left, wearing black clothing with a lace jabot and a fawn lion-style wig covering almost the entire background. Inscription on reverse of the binding: ...Le Febure... ..A/1672. Binding: narrow medallion rim of sheet metal, mounted in velvet and bordered with a decorative profiled gilt strip. Miniature, 1672. Height 3.8 cm, width 3.1 cm., A small framed oval portrait shows a person with pale skin and light gray curly hair, wearing a garment with a light-colored collar and darker clothing beneath; the face has a neutral expression. The portrait is set against a black background and surrounded by a thin golden oval mat. The rectangular outer frame is gilded with decorative borders featuring a repeating pattern in blue and red with gold highlights, and there is a small metal hanging loop above the frame in a brass tone. The visible colors include gold, blue, red, black, gray, pale skin tones, and brass.
