White shirt, black tie, yellow vest, light sapphire tailcoat with black collar. Background olive, stippled, brightened on the right around the face. Biedermeier style. Inscription on recto: A. Fernkorn 1836. Inscription on reverse: Michal Wankowicz / 28 years old / Father of Józia and Misia / born 1832 born 1834 / March 27, 1836. Miniature, height 7.4 cm, width 6.0 cm. Oval frame of gilded bronze with a palmette motif set in a mass imitating wood, the whole in a rectangle with semi-convex ornaments in the corners. Artists attributed: Fernkorn, Anton Dominik von 1813–1878, sculptor possibly; Fernkorn A. fl. 1836, lithographer. Subjects: men, male portrait; Polish costume; Vilnius., A painted oval portrait of a young person with light skin and brown hair set within a round gold-colored inner frame and a larger dark molded outer frame with ornate carved corners; the subject wears a blue coat with a black collar, a light-colored vest, and a dark bow at the neck, and has a neutral expression against a muted greenish background, with visible colors including blue, black, gold, brown, green, cream, and grey.
