Oval miniature portrait, bust three-quarters left: dark hair, sideburns; white collar, pleated jabot and white waistcoat; black cravat tied with a bow; dark green tailcoat with two rows of gold buttons. Background: dark clouds below, sky above. Semi-convex oval rim of gilded bronze. Signed on the left: Landolfi 1818. Inside the binding, mid-19th-century inscription: Samuel Bogumil / Linde / aged 47 / painted in Rome. / G. Landolfi. Below in contemporary hand: 1818. Miniature, height 7.4 cm, width 5.8 cm., An oval miniature portrait set in a gold-toned frame shows a man with light skin and brown hair styled with sideburns, wearing a dark green coat, a white shirt with a high collar, and a black cravat; his expression appears neutral and his eyes are light blue. The painted background is a soft blue with pale cloud-like shapes, and the outer background surrounding the frame is a medium gray. The visible colors include gold, brown, dark green, white, black, blue, gray, and pale skin tones.
