Bust of a man, possibly the artist Aleksander Orlowski 1777–1832. Painted by Jan Nepomucen Bizanski 1804–1878 — painter, graphic artist, teacher active in Krakow. Three-quarter portrait of a man facing left with head turned right; short curly hair, dark sideburns. He wears a white open collar tied with a vermilion cravat with horizontal stripes and a dark brown coat draped on the shoulders. Dark olive background. Miniature, height 13.4 cm, width 10.5 cm. Frame: semi-convex gilt bronze strip ornamented with bay leaves and fruit, with a hanging ring; thin glass broken in the lower left corner. Inscription inside the frame: Painted by JNapl Trzanski / on 2 June 1833 / in Kraków. The artist's name has been read in variant forms Rzanski Jan Napoloeon, Trzanski, 1833., A framed oil portrait of a man shown from the chest upward against a dark olive background, featuring a fair-skinned face with brown curly hair and sideburns, brown eyes, and a neutral expression; he wears a dark blue or black garment with a red scarf tied around his neck and a hint of a white collar visible, and the painting is set in an ornate gold frame with patterned detailing around the edges.
