The man has pale skin, short light brown hair, a mustache, and a contemplative expression; he wears a reddish garment with darker fur-trimmed edges and a lighter collar. The woman has pale skin, a solemn expression, and is wearing a dark hooded garment with a lighter head covering beneath and lighter trim at the front. The background behind both figures is dark brown, and the frame is an elaborate carved design with a shiny gold color. The overall palette includes gold, brown, red, black, cream, and flesh tones.
