Maurycy Mann 1814–1876, writer, publicist, politician, co-editor of the newspaper Czas, accompanied Adam Potocki on his trip to the Middle East and Egypt; natural son of Stanislaw Wodzicki, president of the senate ruling the Republic of Kraków. Half-length figure facing right, fair hair, white shirt, black cravat with emerald trim, dark grey frock coat and coat. Miniature, 1840–1845, Poland. Height 13.2 cm, width 10.4 cm. Binding: velvet, brown leather. Artist: Kurowski, Józef Szymon 1809–1851., A framed painted portrait of a man shown from the waist up wearing a dark gray coat, a white shirt, and a dark green scarf tied at the neck, with light brown hair, a mustache, and a neutral expression; the background is a pale, cloudy wash in off-white, beige, and light gray tones, and the frame around the image is gold with a surrounding dark brown mat.
