Alfred Józef Potocki 1822–1869, son of Alfred Wojciech and Józefa née Czartoryska, 2nd Entailer of Lancut. Painter: Jan Nepomucen Glowacki 1802–1847. Half-length portrait, head almost straight. Short hair, white shirt and collar, black cravat, burgundy waistcoat, dark brown frock coat and cloak-cape à la Byron. Background: light ocher with a light blue spot. Binding: gilded bronze, velvet, embossed leather. Date: 1843. Place of origin: Poland. Miniature; height 25.2 cm, width 20.8 cm., A framed portrait of a young man shown from the waist up, with wavy dark brown hair and a pale complexion, wearing dark clothing including a black bow at the neck and a draped dark cloak with a deep red inner lining; the background behind him is a soft beige wash. The portrait is set within a narrow gold-colored inner frame and a wider outer frame covered in brown velvet and embossed brown leather at the corners. The visible colors include brown, beige, black, dark red, gold, and pale skin tones.
