Painter: Jedrzej Józef Hintz fl. 1807–1842. Portrait en trois-quarts; miniature height 4.9 cm, width 3.8 cm. Subject: young military man, bust 3/4 right; black, short, slightly disheveled hair, slanting sideburns. Navy blue uniform with silver piping, buttons and axles. Two orders visible: Virtuti Militari and the Legion of Honour. Background: brown-gray on the left, off-yellow on the right. Binding: narrow gilded iron rim, beveled glass, hanging ring. Poland; dated 1817., An oval painted portrait set in a circular metal frame with a round hanging loop, showing a man from the chest up wearing a dark blue military coat with light-colored decorative shoulder pieces and a small medal, the man has dark hair, sideburns, and a pale face with a neutral expression, the painted background behind him is muted brown and olive tones, the frame interior around the painting is a gold-green color and the outer metal rim is a warm brass-gold, the surrounding backdrop is a smooth light gray.
