Portrait of Countess Melania Sobanska 1813–1887 née Uruska, painted by Józef Haar 1795–1838. Bust slightly to the left, head three-quarters to the right. Blond, smooth hair parted in the middle; large sapphire velvet beret; white dress with a rich ruff tied in a bow with a sapphire ribbon, large puffed sleeves; left arm bent at the elbow supports her cheek. Background: dark brown at the bottom, olive at the top. Binding: smooth oval rim of gilded bronze in an oval wooden frame, recessed and profiled, polished black. Thin convex glass. On the reverse of the binding: Melania / Sobanska / née Uruska / painted by Haar and two labels with no. 1691. Miniature, Poland, 1820; height 6.5 cm, width 5.3 cm.
