Date: 1870, place of creation: France. Medium: miniature. Dimensions: height 6.8 cm, width 5.4 cm. Subjects/attributes: en face portrait, woman, headgear., A small oval framed portrait of an older person with light-colored hair and a dark head covering, shown from the shoulders up, set against a white oval mat and surrounded by a thin decorative gold rim; the portrait rests on a dark burgundy velvet background with visible texture and a narrow dark gray border around the outer edge, and the portrait shows tones of black, white, gray, gold, burgundy, and dark gray.
