Painted by Alexander Molinari 1772–1831. Portrait bust 3/4 left, head straight; miniature height 5.7 cm, width 4.5 cm, 1800–1820, St. Petersburg. Depicts woman in a white bonnet trimmed with a ruffle and tied under the chin with a black ribbon, white dress, rusty shawl on the shoulders; background dirty blue. Style: Empire. No frame., A painted portrait of a woman shown from the waist up, wearing a white lace cap with ruffled edges and a black ribbon tied at her throat, with short curly brown hair peeking out; she has a light skin tone and a neutral expression. She is dressed in a white bodice with ruffled trim beneath a draped red cloak or shawl with highlights and folds. The painted figure sits against a pale, roughly oval background surrounded by a worn, aged rectangular border with visible scuffs and areas of brownish discoloration.
