Miniature portrait 1700, Poland, height 3.8 cm, width 3.6 cm. Subject: man visible to the waist, 3/4 left—silver-grey wig, hazel eyes. Costume: white shirt, black zupan, red kontusz with black trim; orders and sash of the Order of St. Stanislaus and the Order of the White Eagle. Coats of arms: Topór, Pólkozic; at the bottom of the 20th-century gilded bronze binding the coats of arms of Slepowron and Pólkozic. Background: dark grey on the left, sandy-olive grey on the right. Genres/tags: portraits en trois-quarts, Polish miniatures, portraits of men, nobility, family, orders, costumes., A gold rectangular frame with stepped corners and a decorative bow at the top contains a group of small oval portrait miniatures set into the gold surface; the frame and background are gold with some darker shadowing. The miniatures show several bust-length figures painted with pale skin tones and powdered light hair, and a few figures wear red or dark blue clothing while another appears in white; one central miniature shows a figure with very light hair and a pale blue garment. There are two small gold floral rosettes on the upper area and a pair of small gold heraldic shields and crests below the central portrait. The overall visible colors are gold, pale skin tones, light gray and white for hair, red, dark blue, and pale blue.
