En face miniature portrait, bust of an old man turned 3/4 left; short grey hair down to mid-nape, disordered, abundant grey beard and mustache, grey eyebrows, light eyes, wrinkled face. Wearing a white coat/habit; left hand resting on a walking stick. Background grey-celadon-sand, brightened on the right, stippled. Signed left center: Bechon. Round profiled rim of darkened brass decorated with a row of stylized engraved palmettes, pressed into a rectangular profiled ash wood frame stained mahogany. Dated circa 1790–1794, Poland. miniature, A circular framed miniature portrait of an older bearded man is mounted on a square wooden panel; the man has white hair and a white beard and is shown from the shoulders up, wearing a light-colored garment and holding a small dark object near his mouth with one hand; the portrait is set within a gold-colored round inner frame surrounded by a dark circular mat, all placed on a brown wood background showing grain and some scratches, with visible colors including white, brown, gold, dark gray, beige, and a few subtle greenish tones in the portrait background.
