The space contains a mix of warm browns, deep reds, muted golds, dark greens, and touches of black and white; a rich red drapery hangs in the background and a red carpet runs up the steps. Several stone columns and arches frame the scene, and a few chandeliers or candelabras hang from above with golden highlights. To the left there is a gilded decorative structure with intricate detailing, and a few seated and standing figures cluster beside it. On the right a group wearing darker garments and feathered headgear stands near a column, and behind them more figures fill the background, their faces and clothing rendered in earth tones and muted colors. Overall the composition is dense with textured brushwork, layered clothing, and varied fabrics in shades of gold, brown, red, green, black, and white.
