Portrait of Charles II Stanislaw Radziwill 1734–1790 called Mr. Lover, unknown painter after Konstanty Aleksandrowicz, fl. 1777–1794. Shown in bust, turned 3/4 to the left, blue eyes looking directly at the viewer: a middle-aged, stout man with a bald head, sagging cheeks, a lined face, a curled tawny mustache, a long straight nose, and three chins. Dressed in a red zupan and a dark blue kontusz with a red collar, wearing the star and ribbon of the Order of the White Eagle; a dark raspberry cloak lined with ermine is thrown over his shoulders. Background smooth, grayish-green, lightened in green near the head. Inscription in upper left in white paint: “FR. KAROL RADZIWILL | CALLED | MR. LOVER | + 1790.” Dated 1st half of the 19th century 19th century, Poland. Oil painting; sight: 72.4 × 54.5 cm; with frame: 80.5 × 63 × 6 cm., The image shows a painted portrait of a middle-aged man with a pale complexion, a bald head, small greenish eyes, a mustache, and flushed cheeks. He is dressed in layered garments including a dark outer coat, a teal sash across his chest, and a deep red cloak draped over his shoulders with a fur-lined trim. A decorative brooch or medallion is visible at his neckline, and a star-shaped ornament is pinned near the sash. The background is dark with subtle greenish shading behind the figure. The painting is set within a gold-colored rectangular frame with a simple molded profile.
