Towering chalk cliffs rise from the shoreline toward the right with grassy tops and a natural arch visible near the water, casting shadows across the beach. The sea is calm with gentle waves lapping the sand and a horizon line under a sky filled with blue tones, white and pale pink clouds, and areas of soft purple and gray. The foreground contains wooden beams and equipment, a barrel, and scattered ropes in darker brown tones. The whole scene is framed by a gilt rectangular frame.
