Around the platform a varied crowd wears clothing in shades of brown, gray, green, blue, and muted red, with a few hats and head coverings in white and orange; several faces are turned toward the central figure and a few people reach or gesture with their hands. In front of the platform there is a partially visible figure wrapped in white cloth lying in a stone trough with a nearby head covered in white fabric; the trough and surrounding ground are rendered in dark browns and grays with scattered objects and ropes. The background is a dark, textured wall in deep olive, brown, and black tones that frames the illuminated group.
