Dutch painting; restitution noted; purchase provenance., A reclining figure in muted yellow and brown clothing lies on the ground with relaxed limbs and a hat nearby, surrounded by earthy brown and ochre tones; above and to the left a group of angelic figures in pale white and cream garments emerge from glowing grayish clouds, their wings showing hints of golden brown and soft blue, and a small winged child with rosy skin and light brown hair reaches toward the reclining figure; the scene contains areas of deep shadow in dark brown and nearly black, with patches of warm light illuminating faces and fabric, and a few pale green and gray plants near the reclining figure.
