The composition is enclosed by an ornate curved frame with decorative scrollwork and sculptural accents, and additional partially visible figures in reclining poses appear at the edges. The color palette includes muted warm browns, golds, and ochres in the background and frame, soft creams and tans in the clouds and garments, and touches of blue, pale green, and dusty pink in some clothing and accents, with darker deep brown and black tones in shaded areas.
